These East African annuals are among the most beautiful tropical fresh water fish in the world. Most Nothobranchius species prefer water a little hard. Best to keep a layer of peat moss at the bottom of the tank. As annual killifish, the eggs require going through a dry "diapause" period for a few months.
One of the best known species of Nothobranchius is N. Rachovii. These are
a gorgeous killifish, however, there are many Notho that are stunning, which is
true of killifish generally.
